Debra and the other other members of Clan Murphy of Ashland Oregon have gotten together and thrown up a new blog: Simply the Good Stuff.
And what’s it all about?

Several of us are professional writers who’ve had gigs writing reviews and op-ed pieces for print and web publications. This is great work, and we’ve enjoyed ours for the most part, but our experience has increasingly taught us is that, when push came to shove, we don’t really like spending hours and hours of our creative lives writing about stuff we don’t like, then arguing about it all with combox trolls who suck energy from the Ether by making pronouncements that those who disagree with them are Too Stupid To Live.
Life is too short for that.
No doubt there are people called to this sort of thing. Fighting the Good Fight and all that. But our bottom line is that hardscrabble blogging isn’t our vocation. Without sounding too woo-woo, we think we can do more good by lighting candles than cussing the infernal darkness. I mean, there’s so much Good Stuff out there to share!
So…
We banded together (canoodled, conspired) to set up a site where we only share the stuff we’re passionate about. The stuff we love. Or at least enjoy a whole heckuva lot. The Good Stuff. The books, movies, music, people, places, things, ideas, that stir us into rhapsodies of enthusiasm.
Mind you, we’re not Pollyannas. Though we want the overall feel of the site to be positive, nourishing, fun, even whimsical, some of our passions fall outside the categories of Sweetness and Light. But we think it’s Good Stuff because it’s so darn well done, or throws light in shadowy places, or leaves you somehow the better for the encounter.
